THE ARRIVAL

OK! You are authorised to descend to 8OO feet and report Macau at sight. If you loose
contact upon landing we appreciate a telephone to confirm.
OK! Authorised to 8OO feet and will call again when land is at sight and will call when
landed.
After this was done, I spoke to my bottons: Great job. Now that you are in this mess you
have to get yourself out of it, or otherwise I better find a cemitery to burry some bones!
Decision made, I pointed the aircraft nose don so to loose rapidly 200 feet, and to my
surprise right before my eyes the bridge. I yelled out and so did they.
It is the bridge, cannot be anything else, I have seen it in photographs , it is Macau!
Meanwhile I carried on the descend and the scenario was eo mpleted with a beautifull and
enormous city to our right and to our left the islands. It was really MACAU'.
Flying low, we flew over the city and islands, now all much more calmand self confidant,
we looked at each other without courage to speak, trying at all costs to retain the tears,
and with a trembling voice I said:
" Arnaldo the landing is all yours! Y ou are the eldest therefore you deserve the honour'."
Without flaps but with much experience, Arnald landed his aircraft, our SAGRES, at the
landing sight of Conc6rdia in MACAU.
